Saturday Morning Coffee

Our first Saturday morning in the new house is filled with sunlight ... does it get any better than that? Pickles is happy in the garden and the dogs are tickled to lay around and play with squeaky toys ... even Etta Mae who has no idea she'll be going to vet in 30 short minutes ... the toy should console her. . . . . . that being said . . . I've decided to stop fretting over a little bay from Fern, when there's a terrier down the street that does nothing but yap between ankle biting ... solid since 8 a.m. .... sheesh!!!

Chillin' with my Lammy

PIckles in the garden ...
So much sunshine!!!

I'll find pictures of Debbie and her delightful companion, Paris and post them soon ...

Don chose a publicist aside from us girls at Cayane ... not sure why ...

And we've moved ...

So as most of you know, we moved this weekend ... we are exhausted and life isn't slowing down for us, so I posted pictures, but the commentary will have to wait. There is a garage full of furniture, boxes and random crap that I am not sure why I ever needed .... a guest room that needs to be set up before my sister comes ... hmmm wonder if she would mind sleeping amidst a forest of wardrobe boxes on an air mattress ... We'll get it done ... hopefully sooner rather than later! After that there is painting and decorating ... the fun stuff!
I think I am going to put up a poll for paint colors ...
More pics of the house to come ... and the dogs and Pickles, who loves the new backyard!
I knew there was a reason I threw all those pillows there Thanks for fixing me a lounging area ... the silk pillow is nice ...
Etta Mae gave up walking on the hard wood and ceramic ... ice skating is easier
Private doggie bathroom, as soon as I fix the umbrella it will be deluxe ...
Backyard
Left side of the backyard ... Rebel thinks he can hide behind those "trees"
All the work Rascal did (yeah right) wiped him out ...
Charlie and his mom Sally, our dear friend who was a packing trooper
Our friend, Charlie ... our token white dog
This place is a mess ...
Back away from my bone ... seriously!
Etta Mae enjoys her Fish Stix while everyone else around her works ... it must be nice to be deaf and able to block out the world!!!

ah a weekend we actually did something

Steve driving to dinner with Alice and Gillian ... he sort of likes the Pathfinder, ya know for a guy who doesn't like SUVs ... Patti has grown on him

Our friend Gary, husband to Sally and father to Charlie, enjoying dinner at the American Grill, our new favorite restaurant

Steve is so excited, American Grill has chicken like Houck's in Marietta (on the river) did ... I think they are nasty ... but whatever makes the African happy

Say what you will, but every one, yes everyone, needs a pair of "happy shoes" ... and I do believer that hot pink patent leather moccassinesque heels count for that ... I'll clean house in them if nothing else, with a tiara on

Look how happy the happy shoes made me ...

Yummy skillet steak with a blue cheese sauce, spinach and broccoli ... what would LaLanne say

Like a pig in Buckhead, Sally eating vegetables is a RARE occurence ... she NEVER eats the greens ... this is a once in a lifetime photo op here ... but she seems happy

Ok, so I started posting a blog and then I screwed it up ... now 2 vodka tonics and 2 mojitos, and 1 ice lollie in ... I am too tired to do it again ... so here are the pics, tomorrow, I will add commentary .. how's that? I'll some it up ... food, fun, friends, after a migraine and a pulled back (Steve) and it ended with drinks and happy shoes .. woo hoo happy shoes ... ok there is a gordon setter sleeping on my foot and I need to go sleep on my pillow ... It's moving week ...
Oh and per the African ... London 2012 ... and we're taking "the doodle" (Snickers that is) across the pond ...

Another weekend lost ...

So Saturday was spent at the DMV getting Patti Pathfinder registered in Clark County, followed by a trip to Big Lots for dog toys and cheap Propel water, then Bed, Bath and Beyond for some coffee in k-cups, the grocery and then home to clean ... I had Tyler (13 year old son of my friend Kelly) with me all day and he "worked" with us to get some cleaning done and then we had dinner and yummy yogurt from USwirl. The day ended with carpet cleaning that didnt' go so well.

So today, I slept so late, I still am not feeling really well, I probably should go to the doctor. I met up with a lady to get a remote training collar for Etta Mae to help us train her since she is deaf, then we revisted Big Lots, had some home made Chicken & Veggie Potsticker and now sadly, we need a nap. I'm ridiculously dizzy ... and ugh I have so much to do for work before tomorrow morning.

On the upside I think I may have figured out how to do Billy Blanks Bootcamp in the office and my friend Amy, from the Auburn days, is here until next Sunday, so yay .... I have to etch some time out of this nightmare of a week to spend with her ... it's been forever.

The dogs still aren't bathed, another weekend that didnt' get crossed off the list and my Palm won't since with my work computer ...

Tomorrow is another day .....

Oh, check out my new favorite doggie mama necessity ... www.fizzionclean.com

Life, it just keeps getting better ...

So here's an update on our life ...

Jenny Jeep is out and Patti Pathfinder is in ... we LOVE LOVE the new Pathfinder! Fern loves third row seating!
We are moving next weekend, a bit unexpectedly due to irresponsible landlords, but it is going to work out well, so maybe we should thank them for screwing us over?

My work is great, stressful, but what job in public relations or advertising isn't - however, I love it and am really happy there.
Steve is LOVING his consulting position ... (sarcasm all over this)
I'm trying to get everything in life in without overcommiting, something that I just do not think is possible ...

I am now PRESIDENT of Las Vegas Cocker Spaniel Rescue, woo hoo! Snickerdoodle and Etta Mae Jones are so proud of their mama though!

We are so excited to see friends this fall, yay for visitors - Amy is coming from Montgomery, Cassandra and "Big E" (that's what I call him) as well as my sister and Jim are coming in September and then Erin and Zack, my fave cuzzins, will be here for Thanksgiving, bless their hearts for daring the skies that weekend, they must really love us!
It was 115 degrees today (Friday) and will drop to 78 degrees on Wednesday - Vegas weather rocks!

So we aren't exciting people ... we never pretended to be ... I'm tired and have a smidgen of a cold coming on and Steve actually has to go in the office tomorrow :( .... I have to get a new car tag (for Patti Pathfinder), go to N. Las Vegas to see a friend, train EMJ to a pee pad (yeah, right), bathe all six dogs and if feeling advantageous, the pig too, work on a pitch to Fit Pregnancy, edit an article for Producers Web and edit some brochure and web site copy ... oh and clean the house start packing, steam clean the carpets, shock the pool, start packing ... all before Sunday at lunch!!!

I'll come up with something more fun to post soon, thankfully we have lots of activity b/t now and Christmas ... 4 sets of friends, Alana's wedding, Thanksgiving fun with Erin and Zack, Christmas (undetermined fun) and Erin and Zack's Hawaii wedding on January 3rd.

Stay tuned for potential excitement ...

I'm so jealous of Shelly's blog ... seriously ... ha ha

Bye Bye Casa de Cavaison ....

Ok so we aren't the best bloggers

So, I started this blog mainly because my friend Shelly did it (for reference she is my first Vegas friend) and I thought I'd join the crowd ... well as you can see, Steve and I aren't really great at this updating thing since the last post was in February ... so here is a quick run down of the last 5 months with a promise to update regularly.

We started a canine teeth brushing regimen. Fern is thrilled with this new daily routine and absolutely loves to show you her sparkly whites. We'd like to credit our vet, Dr. Jason, for this lovely new activity and the savings on dental care ... minus the increase on toothpaste and Fern's Disney Princess toothbrushes.

Pickles won a talent show with his new found love of the piano ... his melodies are exquisite and he sounds a bit like Elton John at his Ceasar's Red Piano show ... we are quite proud of him.

Steve broke his foot on Easter, right before my magnificent meal that people are still talking about ... bless his heart he was so pitiful. He was casted for 8 weeks .. aside from the whining there really wasn't much of a difference, he never really moved much anyway ;) Teasing, oh how I do love the African.

I left the pet industry ... who ever thought that would happen and went to work at a Marketing Communication Group here in Las Vegas. I adore it and even though PR for the financial services industry is just a smidge different than pet food, I enjoy every day and every challenge that is presented. http://www.advisorpr.com/ is the divison I am working with these days ... Check out Fiscal Fitness by Matt Rettick and Jack LaLanne - you'll love it.

Then came Etta Mae Jones ... her name was Feta upon arrival, but we felt that was a bit too cheesy (ha ha ha) ... Etta Mae Jones seems quite southernly appropriate ... she's old, has big hair... and is quite honestly a pissy bitch ... we love her though. Oh and she's demanding and DEAF. Etta Mae Jones was found running the streets, saved by some kind people and then came under the care of Senior Spaniel Rescue and is now in our care ... probably for a while, since she is a bit of handful.

We really aren't exciting people ... we play California Dreamin' Barbie Uno, cook on the grill, brush out dogs, watch ESPN or Wife Swap and just get through life. But we're happy.

Laura came and visited for the fourth bringing a bit of home and lots of fun. The dogs love when their Aunt Laura comes ... it's a doggie free for all ... woo hoo ... here are some of our Redneck Fourth of July pictures:

Coming soon ... information on my role of PRESIDENT of Las Vegas Cocker Rescue, the new Pathfinder, summer visitors and other fun ... also a tale of Beer Pong and Hawaiian Tropic girls ...

Ok so that is the best I can do for now ... there is more to come and I promise on a regular basis ... we will get more exciting for the cause of the blog ...
